Repeat - actor Eddie Murphy is NOT dead (despite ongoing death hoax rumors circulating on the web). Instead, the 52-year-old comedic genius seems to be enjoying his time with much-younger model girlfriend, Paige Butcher! The couple was spotted out on an LA coffee date over the weekend, and despite their 18-year age difference, the two look totally happy together. Guess that proves that Murphy is indeed still alive and well - in fact, he's looking pretty dang good!
For those fans still unfamiliar with the ongoing "celebrity death hoax" surrounding the "Beverly Hills Cop" star, check it out... as Mstars originally reported:
Here's the bogus Media Fetcher report that's been circulating on the web since 2012, sending so many "Coming to America" fans into a sorrowful tizzy:
"Actor Eddie Murphy is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today - April 11, 2013.
The actor & novice snowboarder was vacationing at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends. Witnesses indicate that Eddie Murphy lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed.
Eddie Murphy was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash. The actor was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played any part in his death."
Oddly enough, it was a hoax report DEBUNKING the death rumors that initated the "RIP Eddie Murphy" hashtags to start trending again. A "breaking news" report on Media Mass reads:
Rumors of the actor's alleged demise gained traction on Tuesday after a 'R.I.P. Eddie Murphy' Facebook page attracted nearly one million of 'likes'. Those who read the 'About' page were given a believable account of the American actor's passing:
"At about 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday (April 09, 2013), our beloved actor Eddie Murphy passed away. Eddie Murphy was born on April 3, 1961 in New York. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."
On Wednesday (April 10) the actor's reps officially confirmed that Eddie Murphy is not dead. "He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet," they said.
Funny - Media Mass has used this SAME EXACT story to debunk other celebrity death hoaxes (including Bruce Campbell, Blake Shelton, Cristiano Ronaldo, Adam Sandler, Shaggy, Mickey Rourke, John Waters,Lil Wayne). In an attempt to debunk such morbid rumors, Media Mass manages to refuel such bogus gossip. A hoax within a hoax - get it?
The important thing to know is that Murphy is still alive and well. As Mstars suggested before, fans should make sure that they get all their info from credible sources before going crazy on social media... spreading fake celebrity death rumors are exactly what the hoaxsters want!
So clearly, Murphy is alive. For those readers still worried, take a look at these photos snapped in LA/Beverly Hills over the weekend:
Murphy and the gorgeous 33-year-old Maxim model went public with their relationship last November.
Murphy's been taking it easy in Hollywood, but that doesn't mean he's dead! In fact, he seems to be enjoying himself alongside his beautiful girlfriend... one of his more-serious relationship since divorcing ex-wife Nicole back in 2006. Congrats to the happy couple!
