Mere days after "How I Met Your Mother" finally revealed the face of its titular character, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler gave fans even more scoop about the upcoming ninth and final season.
Tassler confirmed to TVLine that Season 9 would show "how each character, before Ted, meets the mother. So, they each meet her independently before he does."

Co-creator and executive producer Carter Bays previously told TVLine that the ninth season "will tell the epic story of the longest wedding weekend ever."
The Season 8 finale ended 56 hours before Barney and Robin's wedding with each of the main characters departing for the big weekend. Tassler told TVLine that Season 9 would span the wedding weekend only.
Ted meets the Mother at the Farhampton train station after the wedding, so it seems that "How I Met Your Mother" is going the route of "24." Each episode will probably span an hour or two of the weekend as it moves toward the ultimate, fateful meeting between Ted and his future wife. It is possible, though, that the show will use flashbacks and flashforwards as it has done many times in the past eight seasons.
The actress playing the Mother (or "The Girl with the Yellow Umbrella" as she was officially credited) is Cristin Milioti, a relative unknown to most television audiences. She received a Tony nomination for her lead role in the Broadway musical "Once" but she also had some television roles as Johnny Sack's daughter on "The Sopranos" and as a comedy writer with a baby voice on an episode of "30 Rock."
