WWE prefers The Rock and wants to build an angle between him and Lesnar. The company hopes that it can reach an agreement with The Rock by the fall and that he would be willing to work with Lesnar come April.

The Rock also tweeted the following injury update Wednesday:

Orton vs. Sheamus at SummerSlam?

F4WOnline.com is also reporting that WWE is planning a match between Randy Orton and Sheamus for SummerSlam this August.

One of the two combatants would probably turn heel prior to the event, and Orton has been the subject of heel turn rumors for months.

Backstage Curtis Axel News

Triple H is the man mostly responsible for the push given to Curtis Axel aka Michael McGillicutty aka Joe Hennig, according to EWrestlingNews.com.

Triple H has reportedly always been a fan of Axel and helped thrust him onto WWE television as the third Paul Heyman guy. Some, though, questioned how the HHH concussion angle at the end of Raw last Monday actually helped put over Axel.

The Rock also threw his support behind Axel. In fact, the Great One trained in the ring with Axel as he prepared for his string of pay-per-view matches.

Head WWE Writer Fired

WWE has fired head writer Adam Rudman just a few weeks after he the company brought him in to replace Eric Pankowski, according to EWrestlingNews.com.

The company hired Rudman just a few weeks before WrestleMania 29 but let him go Friday. The backstage sentiment when WWE hired him was that he wouldn't last as he did not have enough knowledge of the wrestling business.

"Big John" Gaburick, a producer who has been with WWE since the 1990s and appeared on the original "Tough Enough" on MTV, will soon depart the company, as well. He is currently fulfilling his commitments to WWE.
