Drake isn't helping all the talk surrounding his own simp-hood with interviews like this. Call it a backhanded compliment, a complisult or throwing shade if you want, but Drake just restarted his beef with Kendrick Lamar while praising Lamar's debut album good kid, m.A.A.d. city. In an interview with VIBEDrake seemed to have nothing but love for the Compton kid's major-label effort:

"I feel like the music that I write is utilized in life," he said. "It would be tough for me to go in conceptual storytelling. The last great concept album was good kid m.A.A.d city-still obviously true to his life but very conceptual. Very specific stories that need to be told. I always say hats off to that album, that album's incredible, what an undertaking."

How nice. It looks like this Drizzy-K-Dot thing is finally-

"There are rappers that are good at telling stories about people that aren't themselves. There are people that have vast imaginations to go and make up a story just to achieve a point. I draw off life experiences."

.,.

So close. But I think it's time to sound the beef alarm once more.

Also, does anyone else think it's a little ridiculous that a rich child actor who turned to rapping and only really got on via a co-sign from a man who was (at the time) the biggest rapper in the world can pen a song about how he "came up that's all me" and then turn around and call someone else's stories fictional? No? Just me? Alright, then.

I think we have all the proof we need in the Drake-Dot feud from the fact that good kid is still being fawned over while Nothing Was The Same has mostly disappeared (with the exception of "Hold On, We're Going Home", which will play at wedding receptions until our cities are but dust).
