TMZ confirms that the ACPD responded to a domestic dispute at NJ's swanky Revel Casino at 2:51 a.m. Law enforcement sources say, "After reviewing surveillance footage it appeared both parties were involved in a physical altercation. The complaint summons indicates that both Rich and Palmer struck each other with their hands."
Neither individual was injured, and both refused medical treatment.
Still, Rice and Palmer were promptly escorted to a nearby police station where they were ultimately booked for Simple Assault-Domestic Violence. Both were later released on a summons to appear in court at a later time.
A rep for the popular NFL running back issued this statement to the infamous gossip webloid:
"We are aware of the Friday night situation with Ray Rice and his fiancee. We have spoken with Ray, and know that they returned home together after being detained."
Meanwhile, Rice's attorney recently told the Baltimore Sun that the fight was simply a "very minor physical altercation."
The lawyer hired to represent Rice in the case (Michael Diamondstein) also stated, "We haven't seen any charging documents yet. There was an argument that included Ray. I can't give any specifics because we haven't seen the document yet. Once we're able to go through the evidence, it should wind up to be little more than a misunderstanding."
Rice and Palmer have been dating since 2008 - they have one daughter together.
Now, this shocking security footage recently leaked online, showing Rice allegedly dragging his unconscious girlfriend through the casino's elevator:
Wow - crazy stuff.
It doesn't look like Rice has too much compassion when trying to help his future wife up. This video was captured on Feb. 15, right before the fight. Law enforcement officials claim they have footage of the actual altercation, too.
According to TMZ, before the arrest, Ray is spotted trying to "lift and move a seemingly unconscious Palmer out of a casino elevator's."
A man in a suit eventually confronts Rice during the odd situation. It remains unclear if the guy's actually security, but he's holding what appears to be a security microphone.
Moments later Palmer appears to regain consciousness, and Rice quickly walks away.
The athlete's attorney Michael Diamondstein hasn't seen the footage, but tells TMZ, "Neither Ray nor myself will try this case in the media... However, the video that's being posted by TMZ Sports is not the complete event, but is merely the end result of what transpired. We'll assure the public that when this matter is fully tried and completed, you'll have a better understanding of what happened and we ask the public to reserve making any judgment until all of the facts come out."
This case is getting a little insane. Stay tuned for further updates.
