Kanye West designs engagement ring for Kim Kardashian with his late mother's jewelry

Rumors are circulating that Kanye West is designing a wedding ring for Kim Kardashian made from the diamonds and jewels of his late mother's jewelry.

Kanye plans to propose to Kardashian following the finalization of her divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries. The two were married in August 2010 in a marriage which lasted only 72 days, with Kardashian filing for divorce in October of that same year.

According to a report from Hollywood Life, Kanye is asking for ring and proposal advice from Kardashian's mother, Kris, as well as her sisters Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall, and Kylie.

An inside source told Hollywood Life that "Kanye knows that Kim is the one. As soon as her divorce mess is done and over with Kris, he's going to whisk her away and propose. I wouldn't be surprised if they just eloped!"

Kanye is supposedly looking through some of his mother's most expensive and cherished jewelry pieces, including a pair of diamond earrings and a ruby ring. Donda West, whom West was said to be very close to, passed away in November, 2007 due to complications from cosmetic surgery involving abdominoplasty and breast reduction

Although Kardashian is said to be cautious of getting engaged too soon after her split from Humphries, the couple is said to be planning for a small and quit LA wedding ceremony for when the day arrives.

Even with West and Kardashian looking so smitten and assured in their relationship, close friends of West are advising him to think twice before parting with Donda's personal belongings. According to a source familiar with West's actions involving his mother's jewelry, "His friends think it's a terrible idea and are advising him not to give Kim the ring. Because it's a gift, it would be difficult for Kanye to ask for it back if they ever split up."

Even so, according to Radaronline West has gone ahead and contacted an unidentified jeweler to make the custom ring.
