Before becoming a member of one of U.K.'s most popular boy bands (One Direction), singer Louis Tomlinson played on a local football (well, soccer in the U.S.) team called the Three Horse Shoes team located in Doncaster, England. When the team was in dire need of new uniforms and gear, Tomlinson came to the rescue, but under one condition - he is now considered owner and honorary member of the pub side team.

And Tomlinson seems to be taking care of his team, as one source claims he supplied the boys with "a really smart set of Nike strips and has even arranged a sponsor - Yorkshire Tea."

Tomlinson will continue supporting the team's financial needs, as long as he's allowed to join in on a few games whenever his busy One Direction schedule allows him. The boys of the X-Factor pop band are currently rehearsing to perform at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony, which will be held on Sunday (Aug. 12).

According to one insider, the Three Horse Shoes "will have the best kit in the league and no shortage of tasty brews at half time in the cold winter months."

Today marks the one year anniversary of the release of One Direction's hit song, "What Makes you Beautiful." Fans are celebrating through Twitter with the hash tag "Happy Birthday WMYB."
