Cheering Daley "in tears" was girlfriend Kassidy Cook. She wrote on her Twitter account, "Words cannot describe how proud I am of Tom Daley. Literally in tears right now."
Cook's affection for Daley is quite obvious via Twitter. Last month, she defended him when he was being attacked on Twitter with nasty messages after losing the men's synchronized 10 meter diving competition.
Some of the messages from the user @Rileyy_69 included "you let your dad down i hope you know that" and "i'd rather support a tramp." The hurtful tweets came from a disappointed fan, however he went too far with his words.
Daley's girlfriend, Cook, fired back saying, "your a horrible person. Just shut up." and encouraged "#GetRileyy_69Banned."
She encouraged Daley on Twitter saying, "Don't worry, you'll get them in individuals. Miss you!"
Daley also responded to mean messages saying, "After giving it my all...you get idiot's sending me this."
He also requested for Twitter to ban the user who had wrote the message about his father.
Daley's father passed away from cancer in May of 2011.
The 18-year-old diver shot to fame when he competed in the Olympics 4 years ago at the young age of 14. His dad rooted him and is his inspiration till today.
"I'm doing it for myself and my dad. It was both our dreams from a very young age. I always wanted to do it and Dad was so supportive of everything," Daley said to BBC before the Olympics.
Now that he has won the Bronze medal, his girlfriend and Great Britain is proud of him.
"I gave it my best shot, I gave it absolutely everything. The retaken dive (because of camera flash bulbs) is one down side to having a home crowd. I can't wait to see my family and have a massive bundle! To be honest I was very nervous. I went in to it with a do-or-die mentality," Daley said to BBC Three.
He added, ""I put everything into it. I was in first place going into the last round but didn't have the degree of difficulty I needed (to hold on for gold). The main aim here was to get a medal. To see Alexei (Evangulov) the national performance director happy - at the beginning of the year he was telling me I was fat! I've lost seven-and-a-half kilos. I've made so many changes and I can't wait to go and eat what I like. Olympic bronze medal - I can't believe it!"
