Lisa Whelchel and Pastor Steven Cauble's 24 year marriage officially ended on March 1, 2012.  They have three grown children together, Tucker, Haven, and Clancy.  Their divorce was a big shocker for Christians because of the continuous testimony that she has given over the years about the perfection of God's plan for her marriage.  Unfortunately, it didn't work out.

Whelchel told People magazine, "Going out to Survivor was helpful for me, to divert my attention and not just dwell on the loss."

She also admitted that "I just never thought it would happen to me.  It was painful to realize that it wasn't going to work out."

The two separated amicably and still see each other as friends.

She said, "We will always be friends.  And we will always be family, too."

Many fans were very disappointed in their decision to divorce.

Dwhisper - It is sad. Biblically speaking -- there are a few reasons that divorce is *ok*. The two that I know of is abandonment and adultery. If she stated her reasons and they were one of the two...
