The infamous celebrity death hoax strikes once again, spreading rumors that actor Adam Sandler has died in a tragic snowboarding accident in Switzerland. This same morbid (and totally bogus) obituary report has gone viral several times over the past few months, and this time around most Twitter and Facebook fans weren't so fast to fall for such absurdity. Even so, just so everyone is totally clear - Adam Sandler is alive and well and did not die at the slops of the Zermatt ski resort while on vacation with family and friends.

Here is the bogus Adam Sandler obit originally posted by the prank website Global Associate News back in September, which sent many Happy Gilmore fans into a mournful viral tizzy (read more on the story here):

"Actor Adam Sandler is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today - December 6, 2012. (Obviously the website generates false up-to-the-date deaths).

The actor & novice snowboarder was vacationing at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends. Witnesses indicate that Adam Sandler lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed.

Adam Sandler was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash. The actor was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played any part in his death."

Fans started to calm down after it was revealed that the "R.I.P. Adam Sandler" report was fake and that the actor was actually alive and well off filming the sequel for "Grown Ups." But for some reason, the morbid death rumors recently started trending again on Twitter and Facebook:

But at least this time around many more fans were able to quickly debunk the rumors as a total lie (considering Sandler supposed died of the same snowboarding accident at least other three times by now):

Now that less people are finally beginning to fall for the Adam Sandler death hoax, will "R.I.P. Adam Sandler" eventually stop trending all the time on the web? Hopefully! But until then, fans should make sure that they get all their info from credible sources before going crazy on social media - spreading fake celebrity death rumors are exactly what the hoaxsters want!
