Hip Hop singer Kanye West's music career is reportedly going all south. Thanks to his socialite girlfriend Kim Kardashian. West's photos in celebrity weeklies and Kardashian's shows are not really helping him, New York Daily News reported.  

"But a source tells Confidenti@l that West's popularity is waning and he has become tainted, with too many appearances on 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians,' pictures in the celebrity weeklies and a girlfriend unwelcome in the world of high fashion," said a source to New York Daily News's Confidenti@l.

"Once gracing the pages of VMAN and GQ, his face is now splattered all over whatever Kardashian is promoting."

"'His personal life is overpowering his music,' an industry source says. 'Every time he plays, people are wondering if Kim is going to be there. It's not a good thing for him, especially if he wants to be taken seriously.'"

His relationship is also denting his income, the report said. The singer was reportedly offered to host a couple of New Year parties in Las Vegas and Miami but he insisted on bringing his curvaceous girlfriend Kardashian along. The source says that he was offended when he was not allowed to bring her with him and turned them all down.

It was also learnt that West was not too keen to appear on Kardashian's shows in the beginning of their relationship but even after he had made it clear to her that he did not want to be a part of it, his girlfriend "gets upset so he caves in."

The ticket sales for his upcoming show at Revel in Atlantic City are "not close to being sold out," said a ticket broker, New York Daily News reported.

This is not all, the crowd during the 12.12.12. concert for hurricane Sandy literally turned their back on him when a major portion of the audience walked out and no one at Madison Square Garden liked the leather skirt-like kilt he was wearing.

West is also seeking advice from music executives and is meeting them. He is not happy with the direction his career is taking, the report said. We all hope that he grows smart and moves on.
