Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder, and Henry Cavill continue to reign supreme in "Fifty Shades of Grey" casting polls in regards to the coveted role of Christian Grey. But now another Hollywood heartthrob has entered the race... 31-year-old Canadian actor and star of the hit action/adventure CW series "Arrow," Stephen Amell. The handsome rising star is in no way considered a "big name" in Hollywood (yet), but isn't that exactly what E.L. James and "Fifty Shades" producers are looking for? And Amell has already made it clear that there's no way he'd turn down the erotic role of Grey (the big bucks would definitely help in buying a new home). For those of you still unfamiliar with the man who stars as the vigilante Green Arrow (Oliver Queen), take a look!

Hmm... do "Fifty Shades" enthusiasts think Amell could fit the part? He has the look down, with his handsomely rugged physique and sensual smirk... and he definitely carries that mysterious, sexy air about him. Not only that, but the latest results in a "Fifty Shades of Grey" casting poll on the gossip website Latinos Post has Amell pulling ahead of some major Christian Grey competition. The "Arrow" actor currently takes the lead with 30.61 percent of the votes - a total of 1,470 out of the 4,802 votes cast. Bomer and Somerhalder trail right on Amell's heels, with 29.43 percent and 28.4 percent of the votes respectively. What do fans think about that?
When asked about starring in the "Fifty Shades" films, Amell told reporters back in November, "I mean if you think about it, it would be four movies, the last part being two parts. I don't even own a house yet. So I don't think that I'd be turning that down any time soon."
Along with starring as the Green Arrow, Amell has taken on several other acting roles in television on hit shows including "Dante's Cove," "Heartland," "The Vampire Diaries," "New Girl," "Hung," and "Private Practice." The Toronto, Canada native has also starred in a number of small film roles (including the 2006 Lifetime television film "The House Next Door").
The CW television series "Arrow" is based on the fictional character Green Arrow, a costumed crime-fighter who appears in comic books published by DC Comics. The man behind the Green Arrow mask is Oliver Queen, a billionaire playboy from Starling City who was left stranded for dead on an abandoned island and who's now back for revenge.
Would "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans like to see Amell star as Christian Grey on the big screen? Official casting decisions probably won't be made anytime soon, but in the meantime it's fun to dream about it, right?
