Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez breakup again... this time in Mexico.

Apparently a romantic getaway to the luxurious Punta Mita Resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico just isn't enough to repair the tattered relationship between pop megastar Justin Bieber and his on-and-off again sweetheart Selena Gomez. Reports confirm that the young duo got into a huge fight before being able to ring in the New Year's together Monday evening... apparently 20-year-old Gomez flew out from Mexico on Dec. 30 following the disastrous blowout. Bieber returned to L.A. the next day (solo) and the two apparently haven't spoken since. So it looks like the young Hollywood couple are indeed broken up again (at least for now).

In an attempt to rekindle their struggling romance, the Biebs and Gomez jetted off to Mexico on Saturday, Dec. 29 in hopes of ringing in 2013 with a romantic night out on the beach. Several Twitter and Instagram photos insinuated that the mini-vaca was actually going quite well:

But according to a recent TMZ report, all that changed when the couple got into a massive argument on Sunday, Dec. 30. An inside source confirms, "The two of them flew to Mexico for New Year's Eve, but had a blow-out argument on December 30 and broke up. Selena left Mexico that same day and Justin left for L.A. on the 31st. They haven't seen each other since and she was never at the Four Seasons on New Year's Day."

These rumors follow the devastating news that paparazzo photographer Chris Guerra was struck by a car and killed in L.A. on New Year's Day after attempting to take some pics of Bieber's white Ferrari (read more on that here). TMZ initially reported that Guerra allegedly called friends before he was killed, claiming that he saw Selena's car in a nearby Four Seasons parking lot. But now sources close to Bieber confirm to TMZ that such reports can't be true because the duo actually split two days prior to the incident.

No word on what the major Mexico blowout was about, but Gomez did tweet these messages on New Year's:

@selenagomez: "Hope everyone had a fun safe night last night. Here's to a happy, healthy, successful 2013 for everyone. I love you guys!!"

And:

‏@selenagomez: "New beginnings. Fresh start. I love you all :)"

If that means a "fresh start" with or without Bieber remains to be seen.
