Back in November, an unofficial "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie trailer starring "Troy" heartthrob Garrett Hedlund as Christian Grey and stunning "Les Miserable" actress Amanda Seyfried as Anastasia Steele caused quite the stir on YouTube. While 27-year-old Seyfried remains a hot contender in several Mstarz casting polls, 28-year-old Hedlund sort of faded into the "Fifty Shades" background... until now. E.L. James, author of the hit erotica trilogy, recently tweeted - @E_L_James: "Watching Troy... Lots of leather and manly thighs... what more could a girl ask for...#Troy." Could James possibly picture Hedlund as the perfect "leather and manly thighs-esque" Christian Grey in the highly-anticipated film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey?"

The clip garnered over 273,000 hits... and "Fifty Shades" enthusiasts offered a mixed reaction to the suggested cast:

Niya Veleva: "Just perfect!!!!!"

Kristyn Snyder: "This is terrible...would never work!!!!"

Jessica Bautista: "Honestly, I'm excited for the movie and hope it as good as the books, but i will not watch if this is the cast!"

While some agree that Seyfried's sweet and innocent exterior marked by a strong and independent persona makes her a worthy Anastasia Steele contender, others believe that she'd be unable to justly pull off the steamy role... and her trademark blonde hair does not work (at all).

As for Hedlund... there hasn't been much buzz (either negative or positive) surrounding such Christian Grey rumors. The Minnesota native is an up-and-rising star that's sure to capture some Hollywood attention soon... he's snagged leading roles in a number of popular shows/films including "Friday Night Lights," "Four Brothers," "Eragon," "Country Song," "Troy" and the upcoming "On the Road," "Lullaby," "Inside Llewyn Davis," and "Tron 3." He definitely has the charming good-looks of the young and successful Christian Grey... but do fans think he deserves as much attention as leading fan-favorites Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder, and Henry Cavill?
