Rwandan-born and Tutsi rebel, Bosco Ntaganda, surrendered to a U.S. embassy in Rwanda on Monday. Ntaganda, was the most wanted man for his cruel acts and for his war crimes against humanity. The surrendered African was on the most wanted list for recruiting child soldiers, murder, rape and sexual slavery. Ntaganda and his followers fled to Rawanda in hopes to sign a peace treaty with President Joseph Kabila.

The 40-year-old "Terminator" has been a rebel and fighting for and with militias in Rawanda and Congo for almost 20 years and was a member of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) rebel group.

According to Washington today, spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said, "He specifically asked to be transferred to the ICC in The Hague. We are currently consulting with a number of governments, including the Rwandan government, in order to facilitate his request."

According to Bloomberg, International cooperation adviser at the ICC's prosecutor's office, Pascal Turlan, said in an e-mailed response "We are liaising with the relevant states. We look forward to a swift transfer," In search for justice as Ida Sawyer, Human Rights Watch researcher on Congo also expressed, "For over 10 years now, Ntaganda has left a trail of atrocities across eastern Congo, leading his troops to murder, rape, and pillage," adding, "The U.S. now needs to make sure he faces justice for these alleged crimes by immediately sending him to the ICC."
